Malaysia Prepaid War

The war has begun again. Yellow operator came out with www.thetruthaboutprepaid.com and the blue (purple?) operator came out with www.thetruthaboutprepaid.com.my. I wonder what the red operator will register.

For sure, the yellow operator must have some regrets for not registering the .com.my version of the domain.

While the yellow operator is being discreet about the domain it registered (or isn’t technical enough that a freelancer and an external company to handle such promotion):

Administrative Contact:
McCann Erickson (M) Sdn. Bhd
Sha Li Lim
Level 8, Menara IMC, 8, Jalan Sultan Ismail,
Kuala Lumpur, 50250
MY
Phone: +60.60327186118
Email: lim.sha.li@ap.mccann.com

The blue operator doesn’t seem to care:

j [Technical Contact MYNIC Handle : CPC014868]
Celcom IT Security Management
Celcom (M) Berhad
16th Floor Menara Celcom
No 82, Jalan Raja Muda Abdul Aziz

Wilayah Persekutuan
Malaysia
gw_security@celcom.com.my
(Tel) 03-26883876
(Fax) 03-26810396

As long as there’s no gunshot or people dying because of this I’ll just sit out of the war zone and enjoy the fun. I’m using postpaid (with neither operator) anyway.

    Nice update. More detailed ;-)

  2. meme says:

both sites claimed that they are the truth…so which is the real truth leh?

  3. ady says:

    Maybe neither? LOL…

It’s just a marketing strategy, neither is true or wrong. It’s up to you to decide which telco you want to use or support ;-)

  4. meme says:

but aren’t they trying to make us blur by having so many ‘truth’ site?

  5. ady says:

@meme: Yes, that’s the point. Eventhough there are so many information on the site, I don’t think everyone will fully understand and fully consider the details when deciding which telco to use.

The details in there are not for everyone. For example I have been using my number for years, and don’t want to lose my business contacts that have no SMS capabilities or has changed numbers.

Some of us also use the telco many of their friends or family use.

Those sites are not really official and we can just ignore them, IMHO. ;-)

seems like the truth sites no longer THE TRUTH because there can only be one truth. when a second truth turn up and saying different thing, both truth cannot be call the truth anymore. ok i’m confused.

  7. ady says:

@JSK: I think it is going to be worst if the 3rd truth site comes online. Hehe.

Well for the truth you can always come here, I know I always write the truth or at least something honest ;-)
