Mangkuktingkat.com is a very convenient service, initiated by YAYASAN PEMBANGUNAN NUR HIKMAH. The intention is good - to help single moms and women to excel in business. We are subscribing to a month’s worth of lunches and dinners for the month of November.

The food tastes good (not great) and it’s worth every cent paying for. It’s really cheap and to tell you the truth I wonder how they profit with the low cost of delivery of RM1.50.

Our package started on Monday 3 November. The lunch food came within the promised timeframe although they did made a mistake by not providing rice for our “plus” package. But that’s alright rice is not that hard to cook. Dinner came in late, at about 9.30PM and the delivery boy did apologize. When we called the hotline after 8, their excuse was that the delivery boy departed late from the pickup location.

Today is the second day - lunch came in within the timeframe. However dinner never arrived (until the time of writing this post at 11.43PM). For your information lunch timeframe is between 10.00AM - 1.00PM and dinner between 5.00PM to 8.00PM. When called, the hotline said that the delivery boy is yet again late. However they are not professional enough even to ask for who’s calling to follow up whether their food did arrive.

We’re okay since we are able to go buy food or cook some food as we have stock in the fridge but what if you’re a single person or a student waiting for food to arrive? In this case we blame neither the delivery boy or the cook. It’s the company’s fault for not following up and not providing professional service. I’d pay RM10 for a meal if the service is great.

First impression is that the service sucks, big time. I am sorry I have to say that but I’m just being honest as a disappointed customer. Somehow I knew it’s too good to be true. To think of it, it’s our second day receiving the service and they already failed to keep their promise.

Oh well, we have 18 days more to go so I’ll update on what happens.

I am thinking they should call the site mangkukhayun.com, who’s with me?

UPDATES

Friday 7 November 2008 - No lunch, no notifications. The November menu stated the lunch menu is “Carrot Rice, Spice Fried Chicken, and Dhal gravy”. Now what if my pregnant wife was really longing for the food? Wouldn’t that be a penganiayaan? To cover this they provided 2 portions for dinner - who wants to have 2 nasi lemak for dinner? This is really getting ridiculous and frustrating.

Friday 10 November 2008 - No lunch, no notifications.

Wednesday 12 November 2008 - No lunch and no dinner, no notifications - when called to ask about lunch the hotline promised that they will call back but they never did.

Friday 14 November 2008 - No dinner, no notifications - It was raining but it’s no excuse.
